Noorani Qaida — Online Beginner Quran Classes for UK Students
The first step for any absolute beginner: learning to recognise and pronounce Arabic letters correctly, then joining them into words — before opening the Qur'an itself. Taught one-to-one, on UK time.
What you'll learn in Noorani Qaida
Every lesson builds a small, solid step — no rushing, no skipping.
The 28 Arabic letters
Recognising every letter in its isolated form, and hearing the difference between similar-sounding letters.
Makhraj (correct pronunciation)
Where each letter is pronounced from — throat, tongue, lips — so recitation is accurate from day one.
Harakat (vowels)
Fatha, kasra, damma, sukoon and shadda — the short marks that change how a letter sounds.
Joining letters
How letters connect at the beginning, middle and end of a word — the bridge to reading real Arabic.
Madd (elongation)
Stretching vowel sounds for the correct number of counts — the first real Tajweed rule.
Reading practice words
Short Qur'anic words and phrases so students feel the progress before moving to full verses.
The Noorani Qaida curriculum
Taught in three stages, each with clear milestones.
Stage 1 — Letters & sounds
Learning each Arabic letter by shape and sound. Students practise hearing and repeating, and start writing letters to reinforce recognition.
Stage 2 — Harakat & joining
Short vowels, sukoon, shadda, and how letters join into two-, three- and four-letter words. This is where reading clicks for most students.
Stage 3 — Madd & first verses
Elongation rules and reading short Qur'anic words. By the end of this stage, students are ready to move into Qur'an Reading with Tajweed.
Who Noorani Qaida is for

Adults who never learned Arabic letters, or who learned long ago and want to restart properly.
✓ Reverts to Islam
New Muslims who want to read the Qur'an in Arabic — no prior Arabic knowledge needed.
✗ Not for fluent readers
If you can already read joined Arabic words, start with Qur'an Reading with Tajweed instead.
